October 12th, 1969:

The rumor that Paul McCartney was dead was started when a caller to a Detroit radio station said that if you played 'Strawberry Fields Forever' backwards, you can hear John Lennon say 'I buried Paul'.

October 13th, 1974:

TV host Ed Sullivan died. The Ed Sullivan Show was a must watch, and was the show that introduced many a rock and roll act to the mainstream, including Elvis and The Beatles. The latter seemed to influence almost everyone who saw it.The broadcast drew an estimated 73 million viewers.

October 14th, 1957:

‘Jailhouse Rock’ by Elvis Presley, was released. It became his ninth US number one single and stayed on the Billboard chart for nineteen weeks. Some consider the clip from the movie the first music video.

October 15th, 1973:

Keith Richards was found guilty of trafficking cannabis by a Court in Nice, France. He was banned fro the country for two years..

October 16th, 1986:

Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Robert Cray joined other artists on stage for Chuck Berry's 60th birthday concert. The concert and rehearsals were filmed and released as the film 'Hail Hail! Rock & Roll'
