May 23, 1975:
Jefferson Airplane were forbidden to give a free concert in Golden Gate Park when authorities passed a resolution banning electronic instruments. Thus, the inspiration for the terrible "We Built This City"
May 24, 1969:
The Beatles with Billy Preston started a five week run at No.1 in the U.S. with 'Get Back', the group's 17th US No.1. Credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston", it was the Beatles' only single that credited another artist. 'Get Back' was also the Beatles' first single release in true stereo in the US.
May 25th, 1969:
Led Zeppelin and The Who appeared in Columbia, Maryland. This was the only time the two group's ever appeared together, with Zeppelin opening the show. On the tickets Led Zeppelin was spelled Lead Zeppelin.
May 26th, 1994:
Micheal Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley. The couple divorced in 1995. They had first met when the seven-year-old Presley attended several of Jackson's concerts in Las Vegas.
May 27th, 1964:
Eleven boys were suspended from a school in Coventry, England for having Mick Jagger haircuts.
