Not many people would disagree with this restaurant being chosen as the most beautiful in the entire state of New Hampshire.  It has rich history in a beautiful College town here in New England.

Three Chimneys Inn in Durham, New Hampshire is, according to the locals and People Magazine, the most beautiful restaurant in the state. You won't hear me argue.  It is stunning.

There are four places to eat at Three Chimneys Inn.  You can go casual (although, I wouldn't wear a t-shirt and cut off shorts...) to wicked fancy.  Many weddings are held at Three Chimneys Inn, including two of my friends who now live in Dover, NH.

ffrost Sawyer Tavern

That is not a typo.  The name comes from former owners. In this part of the property, you can order favorite New England food, all from locally sourced ingredients in a more laid back, but so comfortable and beautiful, atmosphere.  There's a lot of exposed wood here.

Maples Dining Room

This room is fancier.  You could celebrate milestones here or grab your sweetie for a romantic dinner.

Coppers Dining Room

This is another fancy-pants dining room.  This was the winter kitchen of the 1649 homestead, but now it is very she-she.  Not so fancy that it loses it's New England charm.  The food is farm to table and the wine list is wonderfully paired with the food.

The Terrace

This is not not the place to go in the middle of Winter.  It's an outside space where you could go for a cocktail after work in the warmer months.

Is Three Chimneys Inn in Durham, NH Haunted?

Some say that Three Chimneys Inn is haunted, but I've never experienced that.  If you stay in one of the many guest rooms, you might encounter something and if you do, you'll have to let me know.
