Just when you thought Lyme Disease was enough to worry about, the black legged tick is spreading other debilitating diseases throughout NH at a frightening rate.

The black legged tick can cause both Anaplasmosis and Babesiosis in addition to Lyme disease. If you have been experiencing flu like symptoms such as aches and/or fever, please see your Doctor right away.

Since these 'deer ticks' are quite small and difficult to detect, I suggest staying out of the woods and shady tree lined sections of fields until the peak season passes by.

For more information on how to identify black legged deer ticks, I found this write up from Orkin to be very comprehensive and thorough. Be careful this summer!
