Unemployment In New Hampshire Plummets To Lowest Level In 30 Years

Finding a job in the Granite State is the easiest it's been since the Dodge Aries was still a thing.

According to WMUR News 9, the unemployment rate here in New Hampshire's was 2.5 percent last month. To put in perspective, that hasn't happened since the summer of 1988, when Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me filled car radios everywhere. Speaking of music, CDs out-sold vinyl records for the first time, and "read my lips" were spoken by then candidate for President, the late George H.W. Bush. 1988 was a wild year.

Fast forward 30 years, and New Hampshire is once again out-pacing the national average for unemployment, which stands at 3.7%. Per WMUR, it's estimated that 743,860 people were employed last month, an increase of 1,170 from the previous month, and an increase of 16,570 from November of the previous year. The number of unemployed residents decreased by 540 over the month to 19,180, which was 250 fewer unemployed than in last year.
