Wanna Hike But You Don’t Want To Go Alone? Take This New Hampshire Course

The NH Fish and Game Department is offering a hiking course for woman called, "BECOMING AN OUTDOORS WOMAN!"  With a name like that, I think the course should involve axes and cutting down trees, but it's not like that at all, much to my dismay.

Registration is Now Open

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman is a hiking course.  It's only for the day on Saturday, July 10th.  There is an introductory Zoom meeting scheduled from Thursday, July 8 to learn what you need to pack and how to prepare for the hike.

The Hike Will Take You To the Top of Carter Notch

This is not a small mountain.  Carter Notch, located in the White Mountains, according to Wiki, is 3,396 elevation, so you definitely want to prepare for this hike.  It's right next to Wildcat Mountain and drainage from the Mountain flows in to Wildcat River, which flows into Saco River.

You Will Learn the Proper Way to Safely Hike

This class will teach you how to hike the beautiful land, mountains, trails, etc., in all parts of the country, not just here in New Hampshire.  You'll be able to do it safely and you will be prepared!  It could save your life.

Space is Limited

You have to be 18 years of age or older to sign up and space is limited, so if you're interested in doing this hike, sign up sooner than later here.

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman began as a course at the University of Wisconsin that analyzed the reasons more women don’t participate in outdoors activities, such as hunting and fishing. Research indicated that women preferred to learn these skills in a non-competitive atmosphere along with other women.
