White Mountain National Forest In New Hampshire Closes Several Recreation Sites

Officials at the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire have decided to close several recreation sites due to Covid-19, according to a press release from the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The announcement was made on Friday. It says the White Mountain National Forest has had an "unseasonably high numbers of visitors," despite the stay-at-home order. Thus, officials are "shutting down several high use trailheads, day-use areas, and dispersed recreation facilities until further notice." However, the White Mountain National Forest itself will remain open.

The closures include Rumney Rocks, Tuckerman Ravine, Huntington Ravine,. Gulf of Slides, Appalachian Mountain Club Visitor Center grounds, along with the parking area and facilities at Pinkham Notch.
