Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire had been purchased by Beth Israel approximately a year ago. Exeter has since had some challenges. Recently, they announced that several services in many departments like neurology, podiatry and advanced life support, would end.
Some patients would be redirected to as far away as Boston.
Patients expressed their disappointment. Exeter Hospital - Beth Israel, has since put that plan on hold, according to WMUR.
How scary for the people who work at the hospital. If services are cut, jobs are cut. With this recent announcement, it must take a toll on the amazing employees that work there.
At this time, there is no word on any specific layoffs in either New Hampshire or Massachusetts.
Where is the Money Going?
It's hard to believe the hospital is losing money. This is way above my pay grade, but I can't help but say, "are you kidding me?" With the cost of healthcare, where is the money going?
Again, I do not know the first thing about running a hospital, but why can't I shake the feeling that insurance companies are involved somehow?
All I know is I have friends who work at Exeter Hospital Beth Israel Lahey Health and they are hard-working, caring people who are in it for the right reasons. Let's hope the bosses at the top of this will figure something out.
