You Can Ski Killington, Vermont All Year Round Was a Classic April Fool’s
Thoughts? It may not be something you think about or even your idea of that summer activity you're counting down to enjoying as our weather warms up. I know for me it's not, and I'm an avid skier who grew up on the slopes of Vail, Colorado.
However, I have a feeling this is going to be an incredible winner for Killington Ski Resort. According to WWLP, Vermont’s Killington Resort says that you can now ski all year round. But then you have to stop yourself and think, wait a minute.
I read about this after April 1st so I didn't connect at first, but yes, it was an April Fool's joke. I was thinking at first though that maybe Killington is on to something.
Why? Well if you think about it mountains like Killington have extensive snowmaking capabilities, so why not use them, if even in a few areas for some fun skiing in shorts and sunglasses on super off-season months? Still seemed off but who was I to question?
Here is the deal that played into the joke because they went all out. According to WWLP, Killington Ski Resort will now run the Superstar Express Quad from 10AM to 5PM with closing time sunlight-dependent, so go have fun! Meanwhile, Killington should have a dual summer terrain park kicking off this newfound summer fun starting this Memorial Day Weekend of 2022.
The mountain told WWLP that it hopes to have additional lifts running for skiing and snowboarding by the 4th of July.
Killington Ski Resort and Pico Mountain President and General Manager, Mike Solimano, says he's pumped to go for it and literally commented. How perfect to take this April Fools to the next level!
At Killington Ski Resort we are bigger, better, and beastlier than anybody else so we figured why not have skiing and snowboarding 52 weeks a year, 7 days a week. I couldn’t be more proud of our mountain ops teams who made this possible.
What will they think of next year?
