Wondering where to get a COVID-19 vaccine?

If you are in York County, Maine, there is a possibility that you will be able to get one at the old Marshalls store in Sandford, according to reporting by WMTW.com, as funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will pay the $20,000 a month rent for the facility to host a mass vaccination site.

The clinic is slated to open on February 15 and plans to remain open for 6 to 12 months, the news station reported.

Art Cleaves, York County EMA Director tells WMTW News that the number of vaccines will depend on the supply, but they could vaccinate up to 1,000 people per day with a staff of 50 operated by Southern Maine Healthcare.

The clinic will join the other mass vaccination clinics such as the MaineHealth facility ,which opened last week at the old Scarborough Downs harness racing track, and the Northern Light Health center in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center.

The supply of vaccines will continue to be an issue, but it appears the Federal Government is ramping up its supply and with new vaccines on the horizon awaiting FDA approval, there is hope that more vaccines will be available sooner rather than later.

2020 sure was a hard hit, I hope that the vaccines can help us get back to normal with kids back in school and live concerts and back to eating in restaurants.

I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to this summer and hope some of these restrictions are lifted.
