So, you have to fill out a March Madness bracket for your office pool, but you don't follow college basketball and have no idea who to pick. You're worried about embarrassing yourself and becoming the office fool for picking Hampton over Kentucky in the first round.

Not to worry, many folks are in the same boat. That's why we have the internet and these 13 things to know before filling out your March Madness bracket.

Look, I haven't seen a minute of any game this season, but I love the tournament and watch as much as possible (good thing there is a TV in the Shark Tank).

I usually have a somewhat respectable bracket and generally still have a shot at winning it all when we get down to the Sweet 16. I've never won, but I've never been last either, thanks to helpful tips and facts like these.

This year, instead of picking winners based on jersey color or team mascot, pay attention to these 13 facts and make a few mildly educated guesses on your bracket. You probably won't win it all, but you won't be at the bottom either, therefore saving you from the humiliation of coming in last place.

Good luck and happy March Madness!
