Dover residents should take notice of people posing as utility service employees going to residences in search of personal information and other thefts, according to Dover Police.

Tuesday, Aug 30, at a home on Mt. Vernon Street in Dover,  an unknown male identified himself as an employee of Eversource Energy. The person asked to see the homeowner's electric bill. The homeowner refused and the subject left.

Dover police were notified, and they in turn called Eversource and were told that the company doesn't send workers out to customers asking to see their bill.

According to the police,The subject is a white male in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, of medium build. The male had a shaved head and was wearing a bright green T-shirt with the Eversource emblem.

Residents should not allow unscheduled utility workers in their home, nor provide private information to a worker.
