Today is the 105 meeting between The UNH Wildcats and the UMaine Black Bears on the grid-iron, and the musket is up for grabs.

First some history. The Brice-Cowell Musket, named after former Maine coach Fred Brice and former UNH coach William Cowell, was originally presented to the winner of this interstate rivalry in the late 1940s.

New Hampshire leads the series with a lifetime record of 51-43-8. Yet it's only been in the last 20 years that the Wildcats have pulled ahead, as The Black Bears led the series until 1993.

As usual, both teams have a lot to play for, with UNH trying to win the CAA regular season title out right, after running off 9 straight victories (the longest single season win streak in school history).

UMaine has won 3 straight, and would love nothing better than to defeat their bitter rivals and take the musket and bragging rights.

Kickoff is at 3:30 in Orono. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Network.

GO CATS!!!!
