A recent study has revealed the most popular Google searches for each state and it has me questioning my New Hampshire pride, especially seeing what’s 4th most popular on the list!

The results are crazy to think about and make New Hampshirites seem like that senile old cat-lady from The Simpsons.

The study, done by Estately.com, “ran hundreds of search queries through Google Trends to determine which words, terms, and questions each state was searching for more than any other.” Here are the results:

  1. Cats
  2. Ellen Degeneres
  3. Fireworks
  4. Free Kittens
  5. Live Free or Die
  6. Ron Paul

If you’re not a cat person, like myself, you’re probably disappointed dogs didn’t win out, but not concerned that people are googling cats. After all, a pet is a great companion. Googling ‘Free Kittens’ is another story.

To me, this implies somebody is stock piling kittens, and stock piling anything is a one-way ticket to Crazy Town,USA.

The other items on the list don’t bother me. Fireworks and Ellen Degeneres can provide a lot of fun. Live Free or Die is the state motto so that makes sense.

Ron Paul is a politician and that’s all you’re going to get out of me. I’d rather google ‘free kittens’ then discuss politics.

Other notable searches from the surrounding states:

Massachusetts- Canadian Men, Eyebrow Waxing, George Costanza, Hangover Cure, Muppets, PCP, Tinder, Yoga

Maine- Cat Pics, How to roll a joint, Growing Marijuana, Michael Flatley’s “Lord of the Dance”

Vermont - Kale Recipe, Annie Lennox, “The Daily Show”, Gwar (band), Poetry, Phish (band), LSD,  Stephen Colbert
