As WMUR viewers, we've seen Hayley Lapointe growing her family right before our very eyes.

Hayley has many fans, and she is a viewer favorite, at least in this viewer's eyes.

As a fan, I wanted to get to know her a little bit, so I had a conversation with her and asked her a few questions about herself and if she had any advice for working New Hampshire mothers.

She answered that and a lot more.

How long have you been with WMUR?  "10 years.  It has been a wonderful journey.  I love being here."

What made you want to become a meteorologist?  "It was a childhood dream.  In first grade, I wanted to be a storm chaser.  It coincided with the release of Twister.  I basically wanted to be Helen Hunt.  When I was in school, I took chorus and theater and the combination was perfect for a television meteorologist."
Who is your favorite co-worker?  "OOOO, that's a tough one.  I can't pick one.  I work with great people.  I will say that I work side-by-side with Mike Haddad and the rest of the weather team.  We can geek out in the weather center and get into all different discussions.  I feel so lucky because Meteorologists generally work by themselves, but I am able to work on a team."
How is it working while pregnant?  "I do notice a lot more that I get winded quicker.  Three minutes of non-stop talking can be difficult.  I won't walk around as much in between times that I'm on camera."
Are you ever been recognized when you aren't "camera ready?"  "Yes, it's really surprising because I do put on sunglasses and a hat and people will say 'Hey!  Don't I know you?'  And by the way, I do my own hair and makeup.  We all do as local broadcast people.  Not so much on the national level, but locally we just don't have the budget.  We buy our own clothes, so I have to constantly change things up."

Do you feel like you have a good work/life balance?  If so, any advice for New Hampshire working Moms?  "I will say, It's not easy.  I have days that her girls want me to stay home with them and I really can't.  Sometimes, work takes a back seat depending on what's going on.  We can't do it all on our own.  My husband takes a very active role with the girls.  The best advice I can give is to ask for help.  We are very lucky to have that.  My mom comes over to take the kids, and my husband takes a very active role with our girls.  It's trying to strike the best balance that you can."

Who is your favorite artist?  "Any genre?  Any song?  I'd have to say Tom Petty.  My dad and I went to his last concert in Boston together, so that's a great memory."
Send your well wishes to Hayley here.  She has three girls so far, and this time, she's expecting a baby boy.  :)
