Found money is always the best kind of money, even if it's not a lot.  That's what this feels like.

According to foodandwine.com, if you shopped at Walmart between 2018 and 2024 and purchased weighted products like seafood, poultry, and produce like bagged oranges, you could get a refund (really, isn't that everyone?). Walmart has agreed to settle a class-action Florida lawsuit that says they overcharged more for certain items than they should have.

You don't need a receipt to make a claim.  Without a receipt, you can choose a drop-down menu to receive between $10 and $25, depending on how much you think you've purchased at Walmart.

With receipts, you can get a 2% of the amount on the receipts, with a cap of $500.

The process is kind of a pain in the butt.  They will ask you all kinds of questions like your name, address, phone number, email, and how you'd like to receive payment.  You have a choice of getting a pre-paid card or have the funds sent directly to your bank or Venmo account.  You have to make the decision of whether you want to give them all that information or not.

Walmart Lawyers Have a Deadline for Refund

There is a deadline to make a claim.  You have until June 5, 2024, according to Food and Wine.

I wish I was the type of person that watched every single penny, but the truth is, I'm not (very much to my detriment).  For instance, we had a family gathering not too long ago and I bought WAY TOO much stuff that I knew would probably just go bad, but I bought it anyway.  I also knew I could probably get it at the store across the street for much less, but I just bought it from the store I was in.  I should be more of a penny pincher, but aren't pennies going away anyway?

Do you have a claim that you are going to submit?
