Normally there are dozens of little brown bats that dive bomb the treeline of my childhood home in Gonic, NH. I haven't seen one yet this year and was shocked to just learn why that is.

The disease called White Nose Syndrome has ravaged the brown bat population for years and recent evidence has indicated that it has spread to The Granite State.

Please check out 'Reporters File' this Sunday morning on The Shark (6AM) as Shark News Director Don Briand will discuss this topic with NH wildlife experts concerning this disease and the ramifications we face this Summer.

I used to love 'calling' these little guys and miss their acrobatics already. Hopefully the therapy they use in the above video will be implemented and restore the little brown bat to our twilight skies.
