A resident of Langdon Place in Exeter, New Hampshire really wanted to dance for her 101st birthday, and she got her wish.

According to WMUR, Virginia wanted to waltz again with a "really good partner" for her special day, and the executive director of Langdon Place, Denise Petty, posted her wish hoping someone would be able to do it.

She got a man to come over alright, and he was a professional dancer from Krystle Ballroom in Salem, New Hampshire who Denise called, "Handsome Sam," the news station said.

When Sam walked in, Virginia was so surprised.  Sam gave her a corsage before he led her out to the dance floor.

Denise told me over the phone that Flowers by Marianne in North Hampton donated the corsage.

Sam twirled Virginia around that floor and she matched every single one of Handsome Sam's steps.

When I talked to Denise on the phone, she just could not believe how much this story had blown up.  She said she wasn't sure anyone could or would help.  There was a lot of emotion when Denise talked about the community and how wonderful they had been to make this happen for Virginia.

Denise also told me that Virginia wants to spread as much happiness as she can in this world and make a difference in people's lives.

I told Denise over the phone that stories like this are so needed right now in a world of fighting and discontent.  We can all agree that granting the birthday wish of a 101-year-old woman is something to be happy about.

Dance on, Virginia, dance on!  Next year, at your 102nd, I'll bring the cake, you bring Sam.
