In New Hampshire, you hear quite often that the Puritan Backroom Restaurant in Manchester has the most amazing chicken fingers in the state.

I know they're good. I've had them.

However, what about the New Hampshire Seacoast restaurants? Who has the best? I have to know.  I've got a tender itch I need to scratch.

I took to Facebook for some help and asked locals to share the best places. Here are the results in no particular order:

(First, our friend Richard had to chime in: "That really sounds like a PERSONAL problem Sully, have you thought about consulting a doctor about this itch? Maybe you could get a prescription for an ointment, or salve?"   LOL!)

1.  Sweet Chix Kitchen, North Hampton, NH

Sweet Chix Kitchen has won "best fried chicken" award for the last 4 years, they said.   I mean, it's in their name.  Lots of people have recommended this place.

2.  Dave's Hot Chicken, Portsmouth, NH

Davey has been into my work, and he always brings my favorite, "Dave's bites."  Super flavorful and delicious. And.... as hot as you like.

3.  The Holy Grail, Epping, NH

We got a response from Luke that said the Holy Grail's tenders were delicious.  Kind of an unlikely place, but they sound great.

According to their website, "Andy's Chicken Fingers and French Fries are made with panko bread crumbs and served with honey mustard or sweet & sour."

4.  Backyard Burgers and Wings, Seabrook, NH

The boneless wings, aka chicken tenders, are amazing, so says our friend, Rachel.

5.  Local's, Hampton, NH

When you order the chicken fingers, remember to ask for the cheese sauce, we are told that it's worth the extra $1.25.

6.  Rogers Pizza, Dover, New Hampshire

I love Rogers.  I used to live in Dover when I first moved to the Seacoast, and Roger's was one of my sons and my favorite places to go.  Super friendly and the food is always good.  I will say, however, that I've never ordered the chicken tenders.  Billy says they are WAAAAY better than the Puritan.

7.  Farmington House of Pizza, Farmington, NH

Michael Small is so serious about how delicious the chicken tenders are at the Farmington House of Pizza, he has a chicken tattoo to prove it.  I had to look a bit on their menu, but they are there and claim to be the most delicious ever.

8.  The Shanty in Portsmouth and Rollinsford, NH

These tenders come plain or tossed with choice of sauces like bang bang, asian, mango habernero, garlic parm and more.

9.  Gibb's Garage Bar, Portsmouth, NH

Lots of people have good things to say about Gibbs.  I used to go there a lot for their salads, but never tried the chicken tenders.  Darrin says they are made to order.

10.  The Old Salt, Hampton, NH

C'mon now, how could we forget the Old Salt.  It's a classic seafood place, but their tenders are amazing for those looking for a land lubber option.

11.  Wing-itz, Hampton, NH

Chicken Tenders is a major part of what they do.  I've been many times and I can attest, they are delicious.  My favorite

We couldn't forget these great Seacoast places as a bonus:

The Farm Bar and Grille in Dover

Porter's Pub in Rochester, NH. The portion is huuuuuge!

On the Vine in Exeter has the best chicken tendies

Looks like I've got some great places to try!  Who did we forget?
