You didn't have to tell us, but it's nice to be acknowledged.  New Hampshire people are generous when it comes to tipping.

The Granite State, along with Delaware, West Virginia and Indiana are the only four in the country to tip more than 20%, according to tradingpedia.com.

Why New Hampshire Tips Well

I would speculate that New Hampshire tips well because we appreciate good service.  Honestly though, even if the service wasn't the greatest, we would probably tip more than 20%.  We are an empathetic bunch here in the Granite State.

Delaware, the 2nd smallest state in the U.S., is the most generous when it comes to tipping, coming in at just over 21%.

California Tips the Worst

Wait, wait, wait, this just doesn't make sense.  The state of California came in as the worst tippers?  Why?  Maybe it's because everyone who is a server in that state is really just a starving actor waiting for their big break.  Servers, no matter where they are from, are notoriously hard on other servers, so maybe that's why?  Seems like that state would be more generous.

7% of People Polled Don't Tip at All

What is up with that?  I just don't understand that.  What if it was that person's first day or the restaurant was short staffed, so your server stepped up even though they are the dish washer?

The Federal Wage for Servers is Abysmal

$2.13 per hour, according to dol.gov, is what a server will be paid if you don't tip.  Granted, there are some restaurants that pay their servers a heck of a lot more per hour, but some don't for whatever reason.

Millennials are the Best Tippers

Another interesting point from the poll is that Millennials are the biggest tippers, followed by Gen Z, Gen X and Baby Boomers are the least generous with their tips.
