I hate to say it, but we are adjusting to our "new normal" during this pandemic and heading up to the mountains is, like everything else, going to look a little different this year.

WCVB wrote a report giving some guidance for NH ski areas for the upcoming season as directed by Governor Chris Sununu's economic reopening task force on Friday.  Some of the guidelines are exactly as you would expect, such as, keeping 6 feet apart from each other while outdoors or eating/drinking, but some other guidelines may surprise you like, you are not required to wear a mask when you are skiing.  Maybe that just surprised me because if you mandate a mask outside, you'll stay warmer!

This year, I am going to make a real effort to become a skiier.  I know I probably should have done that years ago, however, it's never too late to learn, now is it?  Besides, I anticipate really getting the hang of it this year!  Okay, maybe that's just my optimism speaking, but hey... maybe it's true!

Here's to some fresh powder!

5 Things You Should Know Before Planning a NH Ski Trip This Year

I'm going to re-think my desire to become a skiier.  I think it's all the rules about "open windows in the shuttle bus" that are getting me.  Just sounds too cold!  I could opt to wear a mask  and hang out in the lobby by the fireplace.  Yeah.. that sounds nice!
