A New Hampshire Man Faces Charges After Allegedly Biting K-9 Officer Casper
K-9 Casper and his human, State Trooper Anthony Cattabriga, were called into action on Friday night, June 28, 2019, when a man who was wanted for domestic assault barricaded himself inside the La Quinta hotel on Front Street in Manchester, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.
Matthew Williams, 35, was "heavily under the influence of illicit drugs," as per the New Hampshire Canine Trooper's Association official Facebook page.
Williams reportedly refused to surrender to local police, so the state police were called and K-9 Casper was sent in.
The Trooper's Association says K-9 Casper was able to apprehend the man; however, Williams allegedly growled at Casper and also bit the dog on the top of his head.
Fortunately, Casper was not injured.
Williams faces a number of charges, including maiming a police dog.
