The FDA has recalled a Mac & Cheese sold all across New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

365 Whole Foods Market Small Bites Macaroni & Cheese has been recalled due to "undeclared eggs and meat ingredients," according to the fda.gov.

Okay, undeclared eggs and .... wait?  Meat ingredients?  Ew!  I'm not a vegetarian, but if I was, that would not be okay.

According to fda.gov, "people who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product."

Egg Allergies Can Be Very Serious

According to the mayoclinic.org, an egg allergy can bring on severe symptoms such as:

  • Swollen throat
  • Abdominal pain
  • Rapid pulse
  • THE WORST ONE:  Shock with a severe drop in blood pressure felt as dizziness, lightheadedness or even loss of consciousness.

We know that we take a lot of medications for a lot of different types of symptoms, but what if it was "just" a food allergy?

In the recent past, I have found out that I have several allergies and eggs are on the list.  I should remember if it was just the yolk or just the white, but I don't.  Luckily, I don't have a severe reaction when I eat them, but my body doesn't like them very much. Dairy is even worse.

Does that mean I should become a vegan?  I've been down that road before and the answer to that is... no.

Are you allergic to eggs?

Massachusetts Wildlife You Can Legally Take Home as Pets

Massachusetts has such diverse wildlife, but also strict limitations on what you can bring home and cuddle. In fact, there are only certain reptiles and amphibians you can keep as pets (so no raccoons, squirrels, bunnies, etc.) and you are only allowed two of each. The state also says "you cannot sell, barter, or exchange them." Also, keep in mind, these are wildlife, so it's probably best to just leave them be and maybe visit a reptile shop instead to get your next pet.
