Berwick Man Arrested for Stealing Funds
(Berwick, Maine ) - Berwick Police have charged a local man with impersonating a public servant after he solicited donations from local businesses while claiming to be affiliated with local emergency responders.

Police said Kirk J. Hassen, 47 of Lyman Street, Berwick was soliciting funds for “First Responders” of the town.
Hassen would travel from town to town claiming to be representing whatever community he was in. In Berwick he was telling people he was with Berwick EMS.
Police say he was depositing the money in his account. Hassen may face charges in other communities.
