When the weather is warm here in New England, people flock to their favorite restaurants in New Hampshire for fried clams.

There is really nothing better.

Here are my top 11 best places to get that perfect combination of breading, belly and tartar sauce.

So Many Choices for Great Fried Clams in NH

When I was thinking of where I would want to take people for fried clams here in the Granite State, my first thought was The Beach Plum.  There is a location not far from me in Epping, NH and they do a great job.

But then, of course, there is Brown's Lobster Pound in Seabrook, NH that is right on the water.  The laid back vibe of Brown's on a warm, Summer day is intoxicating.

If you want to head to Rochester, Windjammer's has a full menu of great seafood, including delicious fried clams.  There is something for everyone on the menu.

Are fried clam strips even from clams?

One thing I don't understand is fried clam strips.  I am not the type of person to judge, but why even bother.  If you're going to eat fried clams, eat the belly too, otherwise, it doesn't count as a fried clam.  Just my opinion.

No matter where you go in New Hampshire for fried clams, chances are, you will get the freshest in the entire U.S.  After all, we are right here on the Atlantic ocean.

The key is the breading and the cook.  If the clams are not breaded or cooked properly, they are going to be wasted.  If I ran the world, there would have to be some sort of fine paid for messing up such a delectable, delicious, delicacy.
