Bob Socci On When Cam Can Return

According to The Voice Of Your New England Patriots, Cam could be back on the practice field way sooner than later. But just how effective he'll be is another matter.

There has to be two consecutive negative tests, I think there's a stretch where that player has to remain symptom free. (5 Days)

 

So there's a possibility that he could practice as early as Thursday. And of course that isn't set in stone as far as I know.

 

I don't know if that gives him enough time. It would allow him to only have two days of practice, one with the game plan still being installed.

 

My assumption right now is they're probably proceeding with plans to prepare Jarrett Stidham for the start in the event that Cam Newton isn't available.

Stid The Kid gets the start? If you told me that 36 hours ago I'd have laughed you out of my isolated and thrice daily sanitized working area.

Jarrett Stidham was not only beaten out of the back up job by a 35 year old journeymen QB that has lost his last 10 consecutive starts, I'm pretty sure he was in the doghouse as well.

Stidham didn't even dress for the last game, he was a healthy scratch! This usually only happens when you have fallen out of favor.

But, while not perfect, he was way more effective in the red zone last night than Hoyer, scoring his first career TD with a pass to N'Keal Harry. It was the only TD for the Pats offense all night.
