Cornhole Tournament to Help Raise Money for the Salisbury Beach Fire Victims in Massachusetts
Let's toss some bean bags for a heartwarming cause. It's a classic game we all love on the beach or at backyard barbeques, and now it's time to play while raising money for the Salisbury Beach fire victims.
It's called the Winner's Circle Cornhole Club, based in Salisbury, Massachusetts. This Saturday, February 19, they're all about raising money for the victims of the devastating Salisbury Beach fire, and you're invited to participate.
According to Seacoast Current, the horrific January 17, 2022 nine alarm fire forced thirty-six people out of their homes as it tore through several buildings, including the longstanding Michaels Oceanfront Motel.
Salisbury, Massachusetts is The Winner’s Circle Cornhole Club's home turf, so according to the Newburyport News, holding this special tournament to help raise money for the victims that live and work among them is personal.
They've even secured a one-day liquor license for the fundraiser and will have a beer garden at the event.
The fundraiser will be at the Salisbury Elementary School and anyone can get involved. The Newburyport News says registration starts at 4pm this Saturday, February 19, 2022, and the tournament starts at 5pm. Teams of two are $50.
Edju Martin is the club president and told the Newburyport News that fundraising has always been a part of the club's DNA, with past fundraising events assisting The Pettengill House, the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Merrimack Valley, Salisbury Days, and the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department.
This is what we do, we want to help people in the community. 70% of what we get for the beginner’s division will go towards the fire victims fund, then we will give 30% from the competitive division.
