Get ready for the biggest winter festival in Portland, Maine history... Carnaval Maine!

What is it? Carnaval, Maine, is a 10-day festival coming to Portland's Eastern Promenade.

When? February 17-22

What the heck is it? 10 days of food, art installations, light shows, a rail jam competition by Sunday River, and so much more!

The first Carnaval Maine launched in 2020. It didn't happen last year (thanks Covid), but is coming back in 2022 bigger and better than ever.

The festivities will kick off with the Fire and Ice Gala. Guests will arrive by the Narrow Gauge Railway to the Eastern Promenade where they will fill their bellies with delicious craft brews, cocktails, and wine paired with local cuisine.

Carnaval Maine will celebrate all that is great about Maine, and of course that includes great food and beer. We're a foodie town, after all! Bites and Brews will bring award-winning chefs and craft brewers together for made-in-Maine pairings.

According to Brian Corcoran, CEO and Founder of Shamrock Sports & Entertainment, this years theme "Fire and Ice" holds significant meaning to the city of Portland.

“Our theme, Fire and Ice, evokes Portland’s phoenix, a symbol of perseverance, which seems fitting during these unprecedented times... Just as they have many times before, our people have persevered through this pandemic, and will come together to showcase our award-winning culinary, arts and craft communities while delivering economic impact when the region needs it most.”

Did we mention there will be live music every day of the festival on the Norway Savings Bank Snow Stage?

Great local acts like Motor Booty Affair, Hello Newman, and Jason Spooner Band will be providing musical entertainment.

And on Saturday, February 26th, country star Scotty McCreery will be taking the stage.

We love us some Scotty! It's only appropriate that Scotty would play Carnaval Maine since he has ties to New England. Scotty's dad Mike grew up in the Portsmouth New Hampshire/ Eliot Maine area (he's a big lover of Moe's Italian Subs). Scotty grew up rooting for the Patriots and has New England pride out the wazoo.
