April school vacation week and summer time is coming up fast and you may have already started to plan where you are going to go. Honestly, I always end up going to the same place, Disney World. Maybe it is to escape to much warmer weather, maybe it is just to go give Mickey Mouse a hug, either way, my vacation plans never seem to change.

Yes, there are theme parks in New England, we have Story Land, Canobie Lake Park, and even Funtown Splashtown USA (just to name a few), and yes they are filled with family fun and attractions, but the question is, will they be open during April school vacation week?

The answer in short is no.

Story Land, Canobie Lake Park, and Funtown Splashtown USA all open up in May, which is perfect for the summer time but does not really help us out during April's school vacation.

Kids in New England are gearing up for their vacation, and if you are planning a trip to Disney World, I hope that you are ready for some crazy crowds. However, it is not only because we have vacation, but the fact that Disney seems to want to give us New Englanders the best vacation ever with a ton of new things for us to experience, and even re-experience, so other people of course are going to want to flock to the parks as well.

Not only is Disney World going to have some of the same attractions that you loved (minus Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and Splash Mountain), but there are actually new attractions that you may have not went on your last visit.

Two of the newest attractions are TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Both are rollercoasters, and honestly will be a little harder to get on.

TRON, located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, located in EPCOT, will both be virtual queues. What does that mean exactly? Well, that means that you will want to make sure that you have the My Disney Experience app, be awake by 6:50 am and have a reservation for the park where the ride is that you want to go on.

Why must you wake up at 6:50 am? Well, that's because the virtual queue starts at 7 am. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, you will be given a boarding group and you will want to make sure that you are at the park in time for when your group is called (TRON will not let you on if you are late).

Other than two new attractions, there is a new BBQ restaurant in the "Toy Story" section of Hollywood Studios called Roundup Rodeo BBQ. You will need to make reservations if you want to eat here, and reservations are already open to reserve. It is important to note that this restaurant is family style and if your little one only likes chicken fingers, there may not be much for them to eat on the menu (that's right, there are no chicken fingers here).

Well, that's some of the newer things that you can do during the day, but what about during the nighttime?

Two firework shows are returning to Disney World that you may have missed, I know I did. Both, the Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever will be returning when we are vacationing during school vacation week.

However, if you are already starting to plan out some fun days in the summer at one of New England's amusement parks, below you will find some of the most fun-filled rollercoasters and rides at our amazing parks.
