Dover, NH Offers Locations for Ukrainian Refugee Donations
The city of Dover has teamed up with a New Hampshire non-profit to collect supplies for displaced Ukrainians.
Items can be dropped off in collection boxes that have been put out at City Hall, Dover Public Library, and Dover Ice Arena through Sunday. They will then be packaged and shipped by NuDay which is based in Windham.
Monetary donations will be accepted at NuDay's website.
According to NuDay, the items most in need now are food, diapers, hygiene items and emergency medical supplies, listed below. NuDay requests items to be new, unexpired, and not glass because it cannot be shipped. A full list of needed items can be found here.
Over 2 million Ukranians have fled the country as the Russian invasion continued for a 14th day on Wednesday. The European Union has granted temporary and immediate protection. The U.S. has also offered temporary protection status to Ukranians already here.
Most of the refugees have chosen to remain in Europe and not travel to the U.S.
With Ukrainian flags hanging from the windows, Dover City Hall was lit up by candles by dozens who showed their support for Ukraine.
