It's winter and it's snowing out, so you don't feel like exercising. But we need to eat. Here are some tips to eat your way to a healthier heart.
The American Heart Association has published some very good tips to start becoming heart healthy during the winter months when going outside for a walk or exercise is out of the question.
Eating healthy starts at home: Keep your kitchen filled with vegetables, fruits and whole grains that will add nourishment to your existence.
You can eat a healthy diet without dieting: Eat smaller portions and stay away from empty calorie foods.
Put the right foods on your plate: Add vegetables and fruits, whole grains, beans, lean protein and low-fat dairy products.
