It seemed dire that Exeter's downtown would be decorated with Christmas lights, but that could change.

Seacoastonline.com reports that Unitil might be coming to the rescue. Exeter officials had earlier announced that it wouldn't be decorating it's downtown because of code issues.

Unitil installed some new downtown poles that apparently changed the electric layout of downtown, making it a fire hazard to put some decorations up. Because of that, the town needed a meter and utility pole panel installed by an electrician.

Unitil will work with local Fire and Public Works departments to hang those holiday lights.

That is the Christmas spirit!
