If you've never been to Provincetown, Massachusetts, it's time you go. I know, I know, it's fabulous, and you somehow think your heart just won't be able to stand all the fun. I get it. You simply must go now, because our beloved P-Town has been recognized as the 5th most charming seaside town in all of America.
According to a loveEXPLORING article, there is 12,000 miles of coastline in the USA, and they have chosen their favorites from their team of "travel experts."
What cities could possibly beat Provincetown in spots 4, 3, 2, and 1, you ask? We'll get to that in just a minute.
According to loveEXPLORING, Provincetown is the site of the Mayflower landing in 1620, an event marked by the Pilgrim Monument.
A word about the Pilgrim Monument. The last time I was in Provincetown, they allowed people to climb the stairs all the way to the top. I'm assuming that's still allowed. If it is, I offer you a few nuggets of advice:
- Wear comfortable shoes. There are a LOT of steps
- Bring a jacket. Sometimes, it gets chilly way up there
- Don't worry about your hair. At the top, the wind is going to blow that bouffant hair all over the place, Maxine, so don't bother with the aqua net.
Okay, so what towns beat out Provincetown for the most beautiful?
4. Rockaway Beach, Oregon
3. Old Orchard Beach, Maine
2. Capitola, California
1. Stonington, Maine
Have you ever been to Provincetown? It's. So. Much. Fun. I haven't been in years, BUT, my friends have. They say that the Provincetown Brewing staff was their favorite part of the whole trip.
