FACT: Real Organic Apples are Gross and Expensive
In honor of New England Apple Day I've decided to expose the world to the horrific images of actual apples that were grown with absolutely NO PESTICIDES OR CHEMICALS. (Caution: Photos May Be Disturbing)
In the next two photos, one of the apples will be organic and the other will have spent it's life bathed in the nastiest man made toxins and poisons.
Believe it or not, the shriveled and spotted embarrassment to the left is the exact same variety of apple as the one on the right. They're Ginger Gold even though one of them looks more like Mangy Mold.
This test is a bit trickier, I'll admit. The apple on the left is the finest specimen on the entire organic orchard, but take a closer look at the top of it and you'll see evidence of some creepy crawly specimens.
Just before this picture was snapped, a large black ant exited the hole by the stem and did so rather hastily. If you'd like to take your chances that his family won't be in your first bite, you go right ahead, you're a bigger gambler than I am.
The average cost of an organic apple is 50 cents on the dollar. 50 cents! I will gladly run the beautiful pesticide formed perfections to the right of these pictures under the faucet for a couple seconds, wipe them off and enjoy cheaper apples that are 100% free of any mystery protein.
