With all the snow New England has had lately, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get out of dodge for school vacations.

Maine and Massachusetts February Vacation is from the 17th - 21st

New Hampshire February vacation is from the 24th - 28th

 

If you are traveling, consider where you are going.  Your destination could be under a travel risk.

According to msn.com, there are four levels of travel warnings:

  • Level 1: Exercise normal precautions: This is the lowest advisory level for safety and security risk. There is some risk in any international travel

  • Level 2: Exercise increased caution: Be aware of heightened risks to safety and security.

  • Level 3: Reconsider travel: Avoid travel due to serious risks to safety and security.

  • Level 4: Do not travel: This is the highest advisory level due to the greater likelihood of life-threatening risks.

 

 

According to the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs, the countries listed below are "level 4, do not travel" destinations for New Hampshire and the United States. The list has recently been updated.

Why Are These Countries Dangerous for New Hampshire Travelers?

The U.S. has declared these places dangerous because of a few reasons:

  • Terrorism
  • Armed Conflict
  • Military Presence
  • Military Activity

U.S. Government's Updated "Do Not Travel" List

Many people travel at the end of the year for the holidays or to use up vacation days that may expire. These countries have a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory issued on them by the U.S. Government and should be avoided.
