Some four-legged friends need our help.

According to a story from WMUR, the Animal Rescue League of NH in Bedford have seven German Shepherds, all 7 months old, who need help to walk due to orthopedic issues.  It's painful for them to extend their joints.

The report goes on to say that the Animal Rescue League received the dogs from a breeder who was dealing with health issues and could no longer take care of the dogs.

Maureen Prendergast, Director of the Outreach and Investigations at the Animal Rescue League said,

I hate to use the term 'overwhelmed' because we try not to use that, but we are overwhelmed at this point. We want to help them all, we want to give them all a chance but financially we just can’t do that without help

The report goes on to say that it is unprecedented to received an entire litter of dogs all dealing with the same issue.  The people at the shelter said is could be a mix of genetics and the environment they first came in to.

If you would like to donate, please click here.  Also, if you'd like to adopt one of these dogs after they are well enough, the people at the ARL would like to talk to you.  These dogs may not be able to walk normally again.
