It’s Almost Spooky Season in Salem, MA

It’s Halloween time in New England and you’ve either been to Salem before or you’re dying to go. As an OG Mainer, I have made the trip to Salem, Massachusetts, in October for many years and it never fails to put me in the right spooky mood for the season.

For those of you who don’t know why Salem is the spooky capital of the U.S. and a staple for all-things Halloween in New England, here is a super quick synopsis: This little town in Massachusetts is most famously known for the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, a time of hysteria when 20 innocent people were killed for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

What to do in Salem, Massachusetts 

The city itself, regardless of Halloween happenings, is a beautiful spot on the water that offers lovely walking trails, charming and historic homes, an epic candy store, and unbelievable people-watching.

The city jam packs the month of October with events every single day, all day long, so no matter when you go, you are in for a treat.

The last time I went, I got a psychic reading done and it was an insane experience. There are spots all around town if you're interested in something like that, too.

Whether you just want to walk around the quaint and charming town or you want to fully immerse yourself in the fall and Halloween spirit, Salem is an incredible place to visit.
