New Hampshire’s Very First Tavern in the Square Restaurant Opens
Salem, New Hampshire, just got a new restaurant and it looks comfortable and delicious.
A place you could meet for a date, have a work meeting or just come in for a beer at the bar.
Turns out, it's the first in New Hampshire, though it has a number of other establishments outside of the Granite State.
Where Can I Find the Tavern in the Square?
Tavern in the Square already has 13 locations in Massachusetts including North Station, Lowell, Dedham, Framingham, and Woburn
Now they are bringing their amazing food and cool vibe to Salem, New Hampshire.
The origin of the restaurant began with three friends who wanted to create a "new kind of restaurant." Their website states that they are proudly independent, local and tied to the community.
The owners want this to be a place where you can come in and feel at home.
This Salem, NH Restaurant Seems Refreshingly Affordable
The menu for the Salem location is filled with what I would consider comfort food. Everything from mac & cheese to quinoa bowls to Red Velvet Donuts for dessert. According to what I see on the menu, there is no entree that is over $30. The most expensive thing for a main dish is the Steak Tips for $29.
You could just grab a beer and a chicken quesadilla for $14 and there you have it.

I wonder if they would mind if someone ordered a martini and the donuts for dinner? Would they judge? From what I am seeing on the website, they would not.
Tavern in the Green says, "We're your neighbors, and this is your Tavern." That doesn't sound like they judge at all.
According to their website, there will be another location coming soon to Bedford, New Hampshire. I wonder if it will be as good as the Copper Door, which is an amazing restaurant as well?
Looking forward to trying Tavern in the Square soon!
