Here Are Four of the Oldest Businesses in Dover, Including One That’s Been Open for 127 Years
Each of them have been operating for 80-plus years, so they must be doing something right.
In 2023, Dover, New Hampshire, will be celebrating its 400th birthday. I found four businesses that have been open for quite a chunk of that time.
Federal Savings Bank: They opened their doors in 1890. They are still giving away lollipops 127 years later.
Alie Jewelers: They've been selling jewelry in the city for more than 103 years.
Janetos Market: Janetos has been selling groceries to Dover citizens since 1924.
Harvey's Bakery: Breakfast and lunch have been offered up on this Central Avenue location for 84 years.
I have done business with all these fine establishments over the years, so I can testify that their customer service is on point.
It would have to be in order for them to have stayed in business for so many years.
It's also a testament to the local folks for shopping and doing their business locally for over 100 years.
