Director Robert Eggers, from Lee, New Hampshire, is having a moment.  The artistic, super-scary (IMHO) period pieces has everyone talking.

Surprisingly, there are people on the Seacoast of New Hampshire that do not know a lot about him, even though he grew up here.

Here are 9 Things You Never Knew About Robert Eggers

Robert is from Lee, New Hampshire, according to IMDB.com.  Lee, a town not far from Durham, New Hampshire where some reports say that his step-father, Walter, was an academic.

Robert was born on July 3, 1983, which makes his astrological sign a Cancer.  I am too and I can tell you, we are a sensitive bunch.  I never met a fellow Cancerian that I didn't like.  Literally, everyone is our friend.

Robert's favorite movies include the original Nosferatu that came out in 1922.  Others on his favorite list include The Elephant Man, (1980) A Space Odyssey, (1968) and Apocalypse Now, a Francis Ford Coppola film that came out in 1979.

Robert first movie came onto the Hollywood scene with his Directorial debut of "the Witch."

Robert's 2nd film that he directed, "The Lighthouse," although the setting was in Maine, the film was shot in Nova Scotia, Canada, according to IMDB.

Next came "The Northman" starring a very scary Queen played by Nicole Kidman.

His latest film, released on Christmas Day, 2024, "Nosferatu."

Now, Robert is creating a sequel to the cult classic, Labyrinth.  The original was created by Jim Henson and George Lukas, starring David Bowie.  Now I have to add one more adjective for Robert; brave.

From what was said about Labyrinth in the documentary of Jim Henson's life, this was the movie that he always wanted to make.

I remember seeing Labyrinth in the movie theater because I LOVED David Bowie.  It was not what I expected, but what's the fun of watching a movie if you know what's going to happen?

Have you seen any of Robert's films?
