According to a report from WCVB, Governor Charlie Baker announced new resources for health care providers and new testing initiatives. Governor Baker said he's putting $800 million dollars for health care providers, hospitals and nursing homes. The medical industry is losing money because of this pandemic.
WCVB also reports of the first drive thru testing in Lowell. Hundreds of people waited in line for hours yesterday to be tested. The report goes on to say that the site could process 1,000 per day and you can get the results in about 15 minutes. Patients take their own sample without getting out of their car.
The tests are being held at the parking lot of Lowell's Showcase Cinema and according to a friend of mine who got the test yesterday, you have to have an appointment and you have to be prepared to wait for a very long time.
