I Conquered ‘The Mighty Ox’ At The OxHead Tavern In Sturbridge Mass.

I spent some time in Sturbridge Mass. this past weekend and was fortunate enough to stumble upon this gem around lunchtime. The OxHead Tavern, home of 'The Mighty Ox,' a ridiculous burger that I had to have and conquer. Mission accomplished.

So, why is 'The Mighty Ox' such a ridiculous burger you ask?

Well, it's not just a burger. It's an 8oz. char grilled angus beef patty, drenched in 'special sauce,' and covered with lettuce, pickles and red onion, lovingly placed between two grilled cheese sandwiches, one with cheddar and bacon and the other with cheddar and tomato. Served with fries, of course.

Not only did I devour the entire thing, but I did it before my wife could finish HALF of her Reuben! I believe it was the owner of the establishment that came over to ask me if I actually finished the whole thing.

If you ever find yourself in Sturbridge and need a bite to eat, I would certainly recommend the OxHead Tavern. Great atmosphere with a fireplace in the back. Service was excellent and the food was awesome.
