All across Maine this summer are a number of cities and towns playing outdoor movies for free, and Portland is joining in on the fun.

Portland Downtown shared on its website that its first-ever Movies on the Monument would premiere in 2026.

That means from July through September, you can watch a movie right in Monument Square.

What Films Are Playing on Movies on the Monument in Portland, Maine, for 2026?

First up on the list is the Nicholas Cage-led "National Treasure," which even features a New England scene in Boston during the hunt for the treasure.

The second film for Movies on the Monument is the only PG-13 of the bunch, the classic "Jurassic Park."

Then, to wrap it all up, the free movie series closes things out with the 1986 film "Labyrinth."

All three movies start just before sunset. Portland Downtown notes that you can bring your lawn chair, picnic blanket, and favorite snacks to enjoy the outdoor movie.
