Famous Pier Fries, Bill’s Pizza in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Sets 2025 Opening Date
Is there anything that screams Maine summer more than Old Orchard Beach?
A little bit of everything is represented there—from aggressively dressed tourists to arcades, amusement rides, and t-shirt shops. It’s our very own Jersey Shore, minus the Jersey part... thankfully.
However, Old Orchard Beach should really be known for the iconic spud that engulfs us all with its salty flavor and perfect crunch. Yes, I’m talking about Pier French Fries—the spot that’s been putting smiles on sunburnt faces for generations. And those studly spuds are about to be available for the first time in 2025.
Pier French Fries and Bill's Pizza in Old Orchard Beach Open for the Season on May 2
Folks, now it’s officially time to get ready for summer. Hallelujah—the fries are returning. And they’re not alone, because along with Pier French Fries, the legendary Bill’s Pizza will be firing up the ovens for the season on May 2 as well.
Pier French Fries bought Bill’s back in 2022 to ensure the pizza joint continues to satisfy the masses of beach bums and hungry folks that will hit OOB this year.
Pier French Fries and Bill's Pizza are Legendary Maine Establishments
Both Pier French Fries and Bill’s Pizza have been serving up delicious food for generations. Pier Fries has been open since 1932, while Bill’s Pizza got its start in 1949. The two shops are among the most iconic spots not just in Old Orchard, but in the entire state.
For more information about both of these incredible Maine institutions, you can visit them online [here]. If you want to avoid the long queues, I highly suggest heading there early in the season to grab your slice, delicious crinkle-cut fries, and poutine. I know I’ll be stopping in frequently to get my French fry fix.
