New Hampshire’s 6 Best Taco Restaurants on the Seacoast
Tacos. I don't know one person who says, "Ya know, I really don't care for tacos." If you have said that, I have follow up questions, but hey, as I always say, you do you.
For me, (and everyone else I know on the planet) tacos are one of the greatest foods out there. They can be soft or crunchy, vegetarian or meat-packed and filled with pretty much whatever your imagination can come up with.
I remember when I first had fish tacos, I was like... what? But fish tacos are the BEST. Especially at Vita Cantina in Portsmouth, but more on that soon.
I wanted to create this list for you of my favorite places for tacos. If your place isn't on this list, don't worry, I probably just haven't tried your place yet. (refer back to the aforementioned, 'I love tacos' statement.)
Cinco's Cantina, Epping, Rochester & Dover
Cinco's is right down the road from the radio studios, so the whole darn staff has gone there after (during) work for nachos, queso and margs. We have gotten to know the owners of the place and they have always been so good to us, so besides the fact that they have amazing food and drink, they are really great people.
Vida Cantina, Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Vida Cantina is on Route 1 in Portsmouth, so parking isn't an issue. David Vargas, the Chef has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation more than once, with good reason. If you order nothing else, order the fish tacos. Change your life tacos. OMG. Also, Guy Fieri really likes Chef Vargas' food.
Las Olas Taqueria - Exeter and Hampton
Las Olas is well known for their burritos, but they also know how to do amazing tacos. I get mine with Chorizo. Yum O.
Burrito Loco Mexican Grill – Hampton & Epping
The original Burrito Loco is in Hampton and they have loyal fans of their tacos. They opened up another place in Epping because people loved them so much.
La Carreta - Portsmouth
Oh, La Carretta. I love this place. It's a date night kind of Mexican place. Not that the others aren't, mind you. Mexican food is always a good choice for a date, in my book. The tacos are as good as their Margaritas.

Margarita's, Portsmouth
This is another place near and dear to our hearts. When we worked on Route 1 in Portsmouth, this place became the place to go for tacos and so much more. I remember some really good times spent there in the '90's.
