This Maine Restaurant, Famous for it’s Fried Clams, Opens This Month

You and I might agree that fried clams are one of the best foods we have ever tasted.

One of our favorite places for fried clams in Scarborough, Maine is opening on March 21, 2025, one day after the first day of Spring!

Ken's Seafood in Scarborough Have The Best Fried Clams.  Period.

I know there are plenty of places that make delicious fried clams.  I've written about them before, but there are none better, in my book, then Ken's Place in Scarborough, Maine.

There are Two Kinds of Batter for Ken's Fried Clams

Some people prefer batter on their fried clams.  Have at it if that's your thing, but for me, it's traditional breading all the way.

When my husband and I were living in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, we used to go to Ken's Seafood more times than we probably should have, but it was worth it every time.

One time, he said he would pick up Ken's fried clams before he came home for the night.  Boy, was I excited.  He showed up with the battered ones and not the breaded kind.  To this day, I think it was a sneaky tactic so he could eat all the clams.

Ken's Seafood Makes Their Own Tartar Sauce

They are very generous at Ken's with their homemade tartar sauce.  You can't get it anywhere else which is another reason why you have to mark your calendar for opening day, March 21, 2025.

During the Spring is the Time to Go to Ken's Place

It's less crowded than when the tourists show up.  I will say, however, I have gone in the middle of July (my birthday month) and ordered up some fat bellies and it was fine.  They know what's coming and they have amazing staff to cover the demand.
