2 Stunning Massachusetts Hotels Ranked in Top 100 of the World’s Best
New England is World-Class
If you are visiting Massachusetts from anywhere in the world, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't visit Cape Cod. Just south of the "elbow" of the Cape, you can take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Locals know it is one of the most stunning places in the entire world for many reasons. But whether you're a visitor or local, you can now stay in two hotels that were ranked among the world's best. according to Travel + Leisure.
Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts
Coming in at number 16 is The Winnetu on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.
Summer on Martha's Vineyard is always booked, so I chose some random dates in October just to check the cost. From what I found here, the least-expensive room is $395. If you want to reserve a cottage, it will run you about $1,000 per night, with a three-night minimum.
The owners of the property want to give their guests the quintessential Martha's Vineyard experience, whatever that might mean to them.
Brewster, Massachusetts
Coming in at number 30 is Candleberry Inn in Brewster, Massachusetts.
This inn, located on the Cape, was previously ranked the best in the entire country and number 2 in the world. But hey, there are a lot of hotels in the world. 30 ain't bad.
After exploring random dates, I found the rates to cost around $500 per night.
The prices of these hotels may seem very high, and they are. However, if you factor in airfare and car rental fees to visit some of the other places in the world, this might work out to about the same money (or maybe even less). When it comes to vacations, however, I never let the money stop me. You only live once, and these two world-class properties are just a car ride away.
Brewster, Massachusetts, is a little over three hours away from Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
You can't drive to Martha's Vineyard. You would have to drive to, say, New Bedford Massachusetts, then take the ferry to the Island. New Bedford is less than three hours from Portsmouth, and the ferry will take you another 50 minutes or so, according to mvy.com.
