New England Has a Tick Problem Even in Winter Because of This
So you think that you're out of the woods for fear of ticks because of the temperature? Think again. According to a story from Fox 25 in Boston, the ticks are so robust in our area, it's now a year long problem. It makes sense - more deer, more ticks.
The story goes on to say that 50% of the ticks in the area carry Lyme Disease. FIFTY. PERCENT.
Deer are everywhere. When you commute to work in the early morning hours, you have to be especially mindful of deer. They truly are everywhere and will walk/run out in the road, directly in the line of your vehicle. If you are unlucky enough to have one run right in to your car, you can take solace in the fact that there is nothing you could have done about it and it seems like there are a million more right behind the one you hit. Not to mention the hunter that will be more than happy to take the deer away to fill his freezer for the winter. AND, the best news of them all - less deer, less ticks!
