New England is Home to Eight of the Best Small Cities in America

Here in New England, we know we're pretty lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.

Over the years, countless studies have directed high praise towards our region. Recently, a WalletHub study announced the best small cities in the country, and New England did not disappoint.

So, how exactly was this research conducted?

According to WalletHub, the information was gathered by comparing "more than 1,300 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 based on 43 key indicators of livability." Some of these indicators included affordability, economic health, education and health, safety, and quality of life. Because so many locations were considered, the results are presented in percentiles rather that individual, numerical rankings.

As it turns out, New England is home to eight of the best small cities in the country. Each one was ranked in the 99th percentile, indicating their status as part of the top 1% of small cities in the US.
