Take Precautionary Actions to Stay Safe in Intense NH Heat

  1. As always, drink plenty of fluids even if you don't feel thirsty.  Water is the best liquid, so try and drink that.  Your body likes it best.
  2. Stay in a cool, air conditioned room.  This is where older people or people with COPD should stay.
  3. Stay out of the sun, it will only intensify the heat for your system.
  4. Check up on relatives and neighbors. Maybe invite them over if you have air conditioning and they don't. I mean, how could you send them away before all this heat is gone?  Guess you might have an overnight guest.

Last but not least, this too shall pass. As with any New England weather event, just wait for a minute or two and the weather will change.
